This is my first post. There was a fall festival of sorts in a town up the road. Grabbed 5 saws, the best of the lot was a S Biggins & Sons tapered tenon saw. Not sure how to import pics yet. I'm looking for opinions on restoring the saw to user condition.
Welcome to the Forum. S Biggin and Sons is a good find, made around 1852-1856, I wouldn't go overboard with cleaning, clean off rust and dirt with scrubbing and gentle abrasion. Sharpen and set depending on how you intend to use it. Regards Ray PS... The easiest way to attach pictures, is to click on the attachments tab, you have to scroll down a bit when entering a message, and you will see a button "manage attachments" try to keep the images to 1024x768 Regards Ray
very late response pics Should have posted this a while ago. Three of the seven or saws I picked up on that trip.
