Hi - in this unique community, is there anyone who owns or has images of any kind of a saw made by the STIDMAN family?

Known-active dates for Christopher STIDMAN are: 1751-1766. His long saws are known to have been exported to the American colonies between 1752-64, & it is plausible he owned a short-lived ironmongers business in the City of London for a year or so up to 1766-ish.

There is a contemporary (& negative) reference to Christopher, in contrast to his father, in the Yale part (1752-56) of the Letterbook of Robert Plumsted (a London-based Quaker merchant engaged in trade with the American colonies) . . .

. . . . this request is part of a project to clarify the pre-Sheffield saw-making trade outside of London.

Attached is a well-known early trade-directory mention of Thomas Stidman, from the 1767 Sketchley's (he is listed as a saw-maker up to his death in 1777):

. . . to clarify the succession with the STIDMAN saw-making family; here is a 1751 Notice in Aris' Gazette (NB - appears to refer to Robert b1716, son of Robert d1744; brother to Christopher b1710 & Thomas b1719):

    . . . then a 1768 Notice, also from Aris' Gazette:

    . . . & lastly this 1777 Notice:
