Nice 1850ish Groves ripsaw

    I've recently bought a very nice R. Groves ripsaw in great condition that has a stamp a little different from that found in BSSM. It looks like it the 1850s stamp, but with a couple differences:
    Firstly, it has a tiny 'cast steel' stamped about 30 mm to the right of the Groves stamp (photos included). The 'cast steel' is only about 1mm tall and 13 mm long, so pretty hard to see until I polished up the plate. Secondly, it lacks the three crowns.

    It's a very beautiful saw that looks like it had very little use. The untouched split nuts which was a first for me as is the rounded toe.
