    Hello all,

For those of you who assiduously watch Ebay, you may well have been watching this one for the last 4 months at least. And before you speculate that I paid the rather silly price asked for it initially, the answer is "No". It was, however, at the very top end of acceptable.

The saw's handle leaves a little to be desired, but I have it from a not unauthoritative source that it is a very early mark, resembling the "Moulson's" (but not the rest of the mark) of the 1830's saw in BSSM. This, coupled with the fact that it is a pretty mark, prompted me to shell out the requisite pennies.

    Hi Fred,

That is a gorgeous little dovetail saw, I'm a big fan of saw tooth border stamps & these are exceptionally nice & early.
There can't be too many of this vintage around left, what a rare survivor.

    Regards

    Mari
