Hi all , first post from a new member, thanks for letting me join I have a collection of about 200 plus saws , some better than others and am interested in the history of the saws , I wondered if anyone would know the approximate age of this saw , thanks in advance
Bruce1 - Hi - my first port-of-call when faced with a Sheffield saw - that isn't obviously old - are searches here &/or Grace's Guide . . . . "Northern Tool Works" plus the use of the "I Sorby" trademark points to anywhere between the mid 1870s & the first decade of the C20th. Narrowing things down beyond that is for Sheffield-gurus, &/or a visit to Kelham Island.
Thanks shoarthing , yes have now found some information on these pages, still finding my way round , Kelham Island looks worth a visit on my next trip up that way
