Some ring as well as a Disston #12. And there can often be found very good histories, documents, etc of the companies and their principals. The first three are the more common - Keen Kutter 816 - EC Simmons (& later Shapleigh) CE Jennings A7-1/2 Diamond Edge - Shapleigh Hardware Co Great info at Rose Tools - http://www.roseantiquetools.com/id42.html Then ... And on a bit of clean-up I was really pleased to see a cold-stamped hardware store mark ... for Townsend & Grant, Syracuse, NY I found some ads for them 1874/75. https://plus.google.com/photos/103554365489606721190/albums/5983343853020461681?banner=pwa
