    Suite of pictures.

Many of these hardware store saws have very very good blades.
Some ring as well as a Disston #12.
And there can often be found very good histories, documents, etc of the companies and their principals.

The first three are the more common -

Keen Kutter 816 - EC Simmons (& later Shapleigh)
    CE Jennings A7-1/2
Diamond Edge - Shapleigh Hardware Co

Great info at Rose Tools - http://www.roseantiquetools.com/id42.html

    Then ...

    James Montgomery - Wausau Wisconsin

"Everkeen" - Pritzlaff Hardware Co, Milwaukee (exceptional blade)

    "#70" - Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett, Chicago (http://www.thckk.org/history/hsb.pdf)

#82 - OVB ("Our Very Best") - HSB Co.

VBM brand - Sargent & Co

Atkins #56 - "Sheffield Warranted" medallion - for CF Ladner, St Cloud Minn

Moore Bros Saw Works - Empire State - Jamestown NY
This was 'one of those etches' ... but little hints lead to a good link online http://swingleydev.com/archive/get.php?message_id=237589&submit_thread=1

    Craftsman - a dodgy D100-style handle - Sears-Roebuck

and maybe someone in the UK can help me with this ...
"McEwan Special - Made in Sheffield" with a cheap replacement handle.

Ooops. There are two others in the Vulcan Saw Works thread ...
for W Wilkins of NY and C Carr, Chicago.

    Thanks,
    Paul
