Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if anyone is able to date these two W.M. Marples & Sons saws for me. They need some TLC, but I'm interested in knowing their age.

    Thanks very much,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I'll move this to the main forum for saw identification discussions..

Referring to BSSM, ( I love this book, well worth getting a copy if you are interested in British Saws )

The closest match for the mark on your saws is 1900, the 1910 mark has "Sheffield" in a straight line rather than curved, The earlier 1890 mark has "WM Marples & Sons" in a straight line rather than curved, so my best guess is between 1890 and 1910, with 1900 plus or minus best guess.
