Provoked by Toby the other day regarding my hardware saws, I spent some time a few days ago looking through and doing some cleaning up. I was pleased to see that a few early etches that I thought I had just slightly overcleaned and then - fortunately - left alone seemed to have come back somewhat with time.

I've had this saw for a little while - but only now managed to find some info (literally) on it.

It is a US warranted superior, the maker is 'BROWN' over a fan and "... CAST STEEL".

I wonder if this could be the Brown that I assume Disston took over ... they had a Brown #3 in their catalogue.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Well how 'bout that ... I had only seen an "O" in the fan ... and vaguely wondered what the significance was ... but it is a "3" !
