    Thanks Wiktor, good write up.

Good news indeed, I wish I could be at the big launch in a few weeks.. on September 24th

I heard a rumor that some forum members might be there, so I expect pictures! :)

A huge heartfelt congratulations go to Simon, it must be very satisfying to see those long years of hard work coming to fruition. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy!...

    Regards
    Ray

Congratulations, Simon, on this long awaited work that will no doubt become recognized as a classic on hand tool history. Like others who tread this path, I cannot wait to receive my copy. Bravo, sir, well done.

I have just had my copy delivered.

As you will know from my ramblings here, I am seldom speechless, but I nearly am with this.

It is wonderful. Clear, well laid out and with introductory chapters on saw making and dating..

If you are all serious about British saws - buy it.

    British saws and saw makers

Sincere thanks to Fred, Wiktor and others. I feel sad that Ken Hawley never got the book he and I had put so much into for all those years, but ever so slightly relieved that I wouldn't have the endless task of defending ever single statement to him! (yet again). The video that Ray posted is a lovely memory of a very remarkable man.

Just a small proviso: the big memorial event to celebrate Ken's life will be on October 9th, at the Hawley Gallery at 5.30, so we have decided NOT to have any launch of the saw book (can we call it BSSM from now on, please?) on Sept 24.

Mine arrived today... there goes the afternoon. Thanks Simon for your great work. Research will grow as there is now a framework in place, and people will add to the work already done.
