    Hello all

BSSM has only two Anderton firms in Birmingham, although more than two individual Andertons.

This saw is not an example of the one that starts in 1767.

It may be Richard Anderton who is listed as a saw manufacturer from 1815 to 1818, but Simon does make the point that this family were cutlers both before and after this date and so saws named Anderton could be of indeterminate origin around the published date.

It is still a lovely saw though with a straight blade, although it has been cleaned a little harshly and inconsistently in places.
