Hi. I am new to the forum. I have a couple questions for the community. Does anyone possess a 18" Disston back saw that was not made specifically for a mitre box? Does anyone have a picture of one? I appreciate your taknig the time to read this. -Bob
Hello Bob, Welcome to the discussion. Yes, I recently got an 18" #4 Disston backsaw and here are some photos of it. It's from 1878-88 and has one replaced screw. The back needs to be reset on the blade on the handle end by about 1/8", and probably the toe end of the back needs to be raised slightly also. David
