    Hello all,

This is another saw from the USA. BSSM does not have a Jobson only recorded but there is a Jobson and Beckwith in London in 1920.

This, I hope is a lot earlier than that and I am living in the (perhaps vain) hope that "London" is a mark of quality not place of manufacture. Although there being a Jobson saw manufacturer/retailer in London at all probably indicates that this is the same Jobson in one form or another.

There is a Jobson in the 1822 and 1828/9 Sheffield directories but he is a steel converter and fender manufacturer, and this saw just "looks" about this old to me.

It is a small saw, (just over and 8" blade) and the mark is tiny, just over half an inch long.

    Any ideas?

    Fred
