So here is a saw I have had for some time that shows ( for me) pre-1800
In our standard works book(Schaffer/McConnell) there are listed 3 Blyths in London ...George
in 1872; Henry in 1896-1899 and Samuel in 1852-1867. I'm not sure that this saw conforms to any of those as it looks earlier. The word LONDON has been double struck and BLYTHE is in a deep box surrounded by the old small triangle pattern. What say you chaps?!

    Hi Roger,

I can't make out the mark..

When you attach images as thumbnails, it's not necessary to resize your pictures, the server automatically creates a thumbnail sized image when you upload, leaving the original alone.

There is an upper limit on how big an image can be handled but I think it's 2592x1944.

What size are your original pictures?

    Regards
    Ray

    Hi Roger,

    Simon lists

    Samuel Blythe London 1832 -1870
    Henry Blythe London 1899

    HSMOB, as you've already listed.

I will do some digging and see if I can find anything.

    Regards
    Ray

PS I've been looking at thumbnail display options, and as a test when you click on a thumbnail it will display the image directly, rather than the default "light-box" display.

    Ray,

What book or other are you referring to when you quote Simon Barley 'shows'?

I think my original images are 2736 x 3648...which is why I am having trouble!
I will have to reset my camera, because I remember you indicating that the system would automatically resize to thumbnails, but I did not know the upper limit.

I was referring to some unpublished work that Simon has done. I think he is still getting it organized with the intention of publishing at some date in the future.

When you upload an attachment the system leaves the original upload unchanged, but then generates a new file "the thumbnail" which is displayed at the bottom of the post. Subsequently, when you click the thumbnail, the uploaded image is displayed at it's original resolution, using a program on the server call "Lightbox" that allows you to page through multiple attachments.

I'm still working on a better "Lightbox" the one that came as standard with vbulletin is not working properly.

    Regards
    Ray

    Ray,

You are light-years ahead of me in your understanding of computer technology, I still work at the 'hammer/chisel/stone' level!!
