I got this saw with a pile of others earlier this year, and finally got around to investigating its sorry face.
The blade stamp is interesting; "Bell Watt & Co" curved over "Cast Steel, Sheffield, Spring Temper"
The Sheffield Directories list several Bell candidates for saw makers/sellers, but not much for Watt, and I'm inclined to believe that this is a tradename utilizing the names of a couple of famous Scotsmen.
The handle is a plywood replacement, bolted in place, but the shape might represent the general outline of the original. This, and the curved heel, make me think this saw dates no earlier than the early 1900s
    Any comments ?
