Hello all, I really like this little saw although the blade has been well used and the teeth, while present are perhaps not as good as they could be, but for the sort of saw that I normally buy, the toothline is OK. I am also pretty sure that the blemish between the cast and steel is a dot and if this is the case, the saw could well be by the original Davenport, John. According to BSSM the "& Sons" did not appear until 1841 and other manifestations of the Davenport clan, until later. There is another Davenport discussion on this site here:- http://www.backsaw.net/forum/index.php?threads/grmn-steel-davenport.706/ , but this particular mark is "new" as it is not in BSSM (yet). Fred
