I was given this saw today, it's a 26", 4 TPI rip saw from ( I'm guessing) mid 19th century. it's stamped Rownson and Drew who (according to Google) are a London engineering firm who were based in Kings cross. They are mainly known for the manufacture of elevators. It would seem they also made saws. I can't find any mention of this on google and I can't find them in BS&SM either. Anyway it's a nice looking saw that has had a hard life and a couple of interesting repairs to the handle. Someone has made a good job of replacing 2 split nuts with iron rivets.
Hi Rob, Interesting saw, the thing that jumps out at me is the Thomas Turner trademark, so I'm going to guess it was manufactured for Rownson and Drew by Thomas Turner, Suffolk Works, BSSM has them at 1837-1928. Ray
