Hi folks, hoping you might be able to help me on this one please. This saw has a steel back and very small lettering on the lowest possible edge of it. I am not sure but the first (if it is the first?) letter could be an R making it RUMBY but alas I have found no match in BSSM. To my shame I have no way of posting a picture presently. Cheers Andy
Hi Andy, I think that it must be Brumby and Middleton with the "B" missing. It is on page 170 of BSSM. There are two marks illustrated there. I hope that yours is the pretty one with the crown and V R. Fred
Hey Andy I have a special place in my heart for that maker. One of the first posts we did back in 2008. http://www.backsaw.net/forum/index.php?threads/congrats-on-the-new-site.7/#post-17 love to see it if ever you get a pic enjoy Joe S
First off going to have to disappoint regarding picture at this stage but hope to later. Many thanks for the prompt replies and my apologies for taking so long to reply back. If only I had persevered and stuck another letter in front of the R. Alas Fred it has neither of the marks shown in BSSM. The font is 1/16th tall and has no visible devices yet, all a bit rusty just now. So glad to oblige Joe with the trip down memory lane. Really should try and work into the saw collection and post a bit more. Cheers Andy
