i picked this up today for $2.00 its a disston's no 7. made for j.b. shannon's of philadelphia penna. shannons was on market street and closed their doors in 1916. the saw is 26 inches long filed cross cut 9 piont
I like it ! #7s are totally undervalued in the marketplace ... which is good for us. I hadn't seen your post, but I just added a thread on hardware store saws in the ID forum. Great minds think alike. ... and fools seldom differ. Cheers, Paul
here is a harvey peace p47 i got this one when i was about 10. the guy i got it from had it covered in wax and paint. it cleaned up real nice. the second etch is from a tool dealer william marlow that shared the same town as peace. i probably should take more photos of the plate and handle.
pulled this one from a yard sale today. looks like a disston 76. skewed back 8 pts. it's missing the medallion screw. i don't know if it should be w/s. or disston. maybe even some other maker and it's not a disston 76. saw has two etches. one says" MADE EXSPRESSLY FOR. BRIGHT CORNER KINKERTER & SHEPPARD. WARRENTED." the other all need to clean some more. but it goes something like this." THIS SAW IS INTENDED FOR THE MECHANIC WHO--------- FINER TOOLS------- ROBERT SHEPPARD.
