Filing Guide OverviewThe basic principle has been around for a long time, I think I first saw it in Grimshaw, which was published in the late 19th Century.

Step 5. Filing the threads Use a flat file and work along, until the threads just dissapear. This one I made parallel, the next one I will taper the thickness so that later when it is in the frame it locks up and doesn't turn (when you don't want it to).
